Hey guys, have you ever visited Utrecht?? It’s a beautiful city in the Netherlands. I always say if I want to live in another city in the Netherlands, it could be for instance Utrecht. It’s such a beautiful city with all the canals, typical houses, many people and especially students, because there is a large university in Utrecht. Walking through the city always gives me feelings of coziness.

Ahoj všichni, už jste někdy navštívili Utrecht?? Je to krásné město v Nizozemsku. Vždycky říkám, že kdybych chtěla bydlet v nějakém jiném městě v Nizozemsku, Utrecht by pro mě byla jedna z možností. Je to opravdu krásné město, ve kterém jsou kanály, typické domy, hodně lidí a hlavně studentů, protože tam je velká univerzita. Vždycky když se procházím Utrechtem, tak mám pocit, že to je takové útulné město.
This time I made a city trip in Utrecht with my sister, who visited me in the Netherlands. Going from our place (Groningen) to Utrecht takes quite a lot of time. I think we travelled almost 2.5 hours by the trains 😀 but it’s really worth it. Also travelling by public transport is quite expensive in the Netherlands, but often there are sales for the train tickets. So you just have to find them and then it’s very good.

Tentokrát jsem jela se ségrou na výlet do Utrechtu, protože mě navštívila v Nizozemsku. Cesta od nás (Groningen) do Utrechtu trvá docela dlouho. Myslím, že jsme jeli skoro 2,5 hodiny vlaky 😀 ale stojí to za to. Cestování městskou dopravou je docela drahé v Nizozemsku, ale často se dají najít jízdenky se slevou. Takže je jen musíte najít a pak už to je výhodné.
We started our tour, of course, at the central station and walked through the city centre, where we also spent almost the whole day. First we were thinking of where to go for a lunch, but it wasn‘t too difficult to decide, because Bagels & Beans was immediately our top choice. If you don’t know where to go for a lunch or coffe, Bagels & Beans is always a great choice. I really like their menu. They even have gluten free bagels, so we could have a delicious lunch there.

Prohlídku města jsme začaly samozřejmě na vlakovém nádraží a potom jsme pokračovaly centrem města, kde jsme taky strávily skoro celý den. Nejdříve jsme přemýšlely nad tím, kde si dáme oběd, ale rozhodnutí nebylo zase tak složité, protože naše jasná volba bylo Bagels & Beans. Pokud nevíte, kde jít třeba na oběd nebo na kávu, Bagels & Beans je vždycky dobrý nápad. Mají skvělou nabídku, a dokonce mají bezlepkové bagely, takže jsme si tam mohly dát dobrý oběd.
The weather was really good the whole time we were having the city trip in Utrecht. That’s why we spent a lot of time around the canals. In Utrecht you can also sit down next to the canals, which is really great and chilling. So when we bought an ice coffee or dinner, we always went to sit there with it. Due to the beautiful weather there were many people renting boats and kayaks so it also was very busy on the water. I think renting a kayak in Utrecht can be so much fun. It’s totally different to see the city from the canal than from the street. However, we didn’t rent it because the waiting queue was quite long.

Počasí bylo skvělé celou dobu, co jsme byly v Utrechtu. Proto jsme strávily hodně času u kanálů. V Utrechtu si také můžete sednout dolů okolo kanálů, což je fakt super a takové odpočinkové. Takže když jsme si třeba koupily ledovou kávu anebo večeři, šly jsme si s tím sednout někam k těm kanálům. Protože bylo pěkné počasí, bylo tam hodně lidí, kteří si pronajímali lodě anebo kajáky, takže bylo dost lidí i na vodě. Myslím si, že když si pronajmete třeba kaják v Utrechtu, tak to může být super. Je to úplně něco jiného, když vidíte město z vody, než když se procházíte ulicemi. Nicméně my jsme si nic nepronajaly, protože tam byla docela dlouhá fronta.
Unfortunatelly, the best sightseeing place the Dom Tower was in total reconstruction so we couldn’t see anything else than just scaffoldings all aroung the tower. But if you are in Utrecht and you want to have a view over the whole city, you should deffinitely climb the tower.

Bohužel ta nejlepší turistická atrakce Dom věž, která je v centru, se rekonstruovala, což znamená, že jsme neviděly nic jiného než jenom lešení. Ale pokud budete v Utrechtu a budete chtít mít výhled na celé město, určitě byste měli jít nahoru na věž.
If you want to go for a GASTRO city trip in Utrecht, it’s also a great idea. There are so many different restaurants and bars. You can visit restaurants that have seats right next to the canals, in shopping streets, other streets, in front of the Dom Tower and so on … Actually, there are bars and restaurants almost everywhere 😀 . My sister and I bought French fries and went to sit down next to the canals again. It was very funny, because we ordered French fries medium, but the portion was so huge that we thought that they gave us a wrong size. Finally we found out that their portions are really huge, so we concluded that the next time we would buy just the smallest portion 😀

GASTRO výlet do Utrechtu je taky super nápad. Je tam všude hodně různých restaurací a barů. Můžete jít do restaurace, které jsou podél kanálů, v nákupní ulici, jiných ulicích, před Dom věží a tak dále… Vlastně v Utrechtu jsou bary a restaurace snad úplně všude 😀 Se ségrou jsme si koupily hranolky a šly jsme si sednout zase ke kanálu. Bylo to vtipné, protože jsme si objednaly střední hranolky, ale ta porce byla tak obrovská, až jsme si myslely, že nám dali špatnou porci. Nakonec jsme zjistily, že jejich porce jsou opravdu obrovské, takže jsme si řekly, že příště by nám stačila jen ta nejmenší porce 😀
SHOPPING is another thing you can do while you are on a city trip in Utrecht! Streets in the city centre of Utrecht are full of stores. I think it’s not only great for women but also for men who like shopping, because there are many great stores for men. Also there is a new shopping mall built at the central station, which is very beautiful and modern. I think you could spend more than one day shopping in Utrecht 😊

NAKUPOVÁNÍ je další aktivita, kterou můžete dělat, když jste v Utrechtu! Uličky v centru jsou plné obchodů. Myslím si, že to není skvělé jenom pro ženy, ale i pro muže, kteří rádi nakupují, protože tam je i fakt dost skvělých pánských obchodů. Také je tam teď nově postavené takové velké moderní nákupní centrum, které se nachází hned na vlakovém nádraží. Myslím si, že nakupováním můžete v Utrechtu strávit více než jeden den 😊
So if you want to visit a beautiful city in the Netherlands, in which you could spend the whole day, I definitelly recommend Utrecht. For me Utrecht is even nicer than Amsterdam. There are many tourists but not as many as in Amsterdam and the whole atmosphere gives me better feelings 😊

Pokud chcete navštívit pěkné holandské město, ve kterém byste strávili celý den, tak určitě doporučuji Utrecht. Pro mě je Utrecht dokonce hezčí než Amsterdam. Celkově je tam dost turistů, ale ne tak hodně jako v Amsterdamu a z celkové atmosféry města mám lepší pocit 😊
